Optima Dance is a student organization that was created to give dancers at UW-Madison the opportunity to showcase their own choreography and perform in student choreographed works. Optima gives students of all dance backgrounds and all fields of study the opportunity to experiment with and express their talents in ALL genres of dance. We welcome all forms of dance and all levels of dancers. Optima offers many opportunities for its members, including performances across campus as well as yoga, technique, and dance classes and monthly master classes in various styles of dance.  Most importantly, Optima spends each semester preparing for the fall and spring showcases. This includes weekly rehearsals, a feedback showing, dress rehearsal, and the showcase. Each year, the shows draw hundreds of audience members, creating memories for the dancers, choreographers, and the audience alike.

Browse our site for showcase details and any and all Optima updates. Please email Sarah at to be added to our weekly email list so you can receive the most up-to-date information! Feel free to contact Liz at for any general questions or concerns.

    1. Hello! Our classes are only for members of Optima! So you would need to participate in a dance in order to be eligible to take classes with us! As for class schedule we have classes roughly once a week at varying times.

Check us our at the org fair Tuesday& Wednesday at the Kohl Center 5-8. Our first meeting is Thursday 6-7:30pm in Humanities 1111!
